Which iCart alternative is best?

Section Store Plus is the best iCart alternative for a store that wants a cart drawer with upsells at a price that never climbs with orders. Qikify Slide Cart Drawer is the cheapest flat price. Essent Cart Drawer suits a store under 100 orders a month. Candy Rack suits a store that also wants post-purchase offers. None of the six replaces iCart's full cart page, so keep reading if you use that.

What is iCart, and what does it cost?

iCart Cart Drawer Cart Upsell is a Shopify app that replaces the theme cart with a slide cart drawer, a cart popup or a full cart page. It adds upsells, a multi-tier progress bar, product bundles, volume discounts, BOGO offers and a countdown timer. It launched in June 2020 and has 451 reviews at 4.7 on the Shopify App Store. Every plan includes every feature. The price depends on your store's monthly orders.

iCart's App Store listing shows three tiers: $9 for 0 to 100 orders, $19 for 101 to 200 and $29 for 201 to 500. Its pricing help page, dated August 3, 2026, prints four more tiers up to $129 above 5,000 orders. The same page says a store that installs iCart for the first time pays nothing for its first 100 orders, and billing starts the day the store passes 100. The offer is for new installations only. A reinstall pays the current plans.

The help page says the current plan counts all Shopify store orders, not only orders that touched the cart drawer. So a store that grows from 400 to 600 orders a month moves from $29 to $49 without changing anything in the app.

How do the 6 iCart alternatives compare?

All six alternatives are slide-out cart drawers with upsells and a reward bar, and none of them offers a full cart page or a cart popup like iCart. Two have a free plan with the drawer but without upsells. Only Section Store Plus and Candy Rack list A/B testing as a feature. Ratings and prices come from each App Store listing on October 23, 2026.

"Reward bar" means a progress bar toward free shipping, a discount or a free gift. "Yes" and "Not listed" follow each listing's feature text. Section Store's in-cart recommendations are Shopify's own product recommendations, or manual rules you set, not a separate AI engine.

What do they cost at 300 orders a month?

At 300 orders a month, the six alternatives cost $14.99 to $59.99, and iCart costs $29. Qikify Premium is $14.99, Section Store Plus is $15, Essent is $23.99, Kaching is $24.99, Amp is $29.99 and Candy Rack is $59.99. Four of the six are cheaper than iCart at this volume.

The gap widens as you grow. At 1,000 orders a month iCart is $49 and at 2,000 it is $79, while Section Store Plus and Qikify Premium stay where they are. Kaching and Candy Rack don't print prices above 500 orders on their listings, and Essent names five more plans above 499 orders without prices. A new store on iCart pays nothing until its 100th order, which no app in this list matches.

iCart beats every alternative here on cart surfaces, because it is the only app that offers a full cart page and a cart popup as well as a drawer. It also runs product bundles, volume discounts and BOGO offers inside the cart, and its upsell recommendations are its own AI. Its first 100 orders are free for a new store. If you built your cart page in iCart, no app on this list rebuilds it for you.

The alternatives beat iCart on price shape, testing and reviews. Section Store Plus, Qikify Premium and Amp Growth never move with orders, while iCart climbs through seven tiers to $129. Section Store Plus runs A/B tests on the cart, and iCart's listing doesn't mention testing. Five of the six alternatives have a higher App Store rating than iCart's 4.7, and four have more reviews than its 451.

1. Section Store Plus

Section Store Plus is $15 a month at any revenue, with a 14-day trial. The cart drawer replaces your theme's drawer and opens on every add to cart. Blocks include an announcement, a timer, and a reward bar with free shipping, discount and free gift tiers. Product upsells come from Shopify's recommendations or your own rules. There are also order add-ons such as shipping protection, a discount code field, payment icons and trust badges. Free gifts are added and removed on their own. A/B tests run up to four versions of the drawer with a traffic split, judged on revenue per visitor. The same plan includes bundles, quantity breaks and AI Pages. Discounts run through one Shopify Function, so they use one of your 25 automatic discount slots.

Where iCart beats it: iCart offers a full cart page and a popup, runs bundles and volume discounts inside the cart, and gives new stores 100 free orders. Section Store's drawer is a drawer only, its bundles live on the product page, and its recommendations are Shopify's.

2. Qikify Slide Cart Drawer

Qikify Slide Cart Drawer is free for the drawer itself. The free plan adds a sticky add to cart bar, an announcement bar, a floating cart button, an order note, gift wrapping and a subscription upsell. Cart upsells, the reward bar, a shipping estimate bar and editing variants in the cart start on Premium at $14.99 a month, or $143.90 a year. A $99 plan is listed for Shopify Plus stores. 422 reviews at 4.9, listed since July 2019, with a 7-day trial. The listing says the drawer syncs with your theme and replaces the default side cart.

3. Essent Cart Drawer Cart Upsell

Essent Cart Drawer, still named Essential on its plan cards, is free for 30 orders a month. Paid plans are $8.99 for 99 orders, $13.99 for 199 and $23.99 for 499, with every feature on every plan. It lists a slide cart with upsells from Shopify's recommendations or hand-picked products, and a reward bar with spend tiers. It also has a sticky add to cart bar, a countdown timer, markets and translations, and custom HTML and CSS. 1,121 reviews at 5.0, launched March 2025. Five more plans cover stores above 499 orders, without prices on the listing.

4. Kaching CartDrawer Cart Upsell

Kaching CartDrawer is $9.99 a month for 99 orders, $14.99 for 199 and $24.99 for 499. The drawer has trust badges, an urgency timer, a free shipping and gift bar, an upsell carousel, a shipping protection toggle and payment icons. It has 1,543 reviews at 5.0 and launched in December 2024. Bundles are a separate Kaching app on its own bill. The listing is translated into seven languages, which iCart's is not.

5. Amp Slide Cart Upsell Drawer

Amp Slide Cart has a free plan with cart styling, announcements, trust badges, a discount code box and accelerated checkout buttons. Upsells and the progress bar start on Growth at $29.99 a month, "always this price". Pro at $49.99 adds built-in cart designs and buy X get Y gifts. 778 reviews at 5.0, listed since 2019. It costs more than iCart at 300 orders and less from 1,000 orders.

6. Candy Rack

Candy Rack shows upsells on the product page, in the cart, at checkout and after purchase, with a built-in slide cart and new volume bundles. It costs $29.99 for 0 to 50 orders, $39.99 for 51 to 200 and $59.99 for 201 to 500, with an 8-day trial and a 60-day money-back guarantee. 265 reviews at 4.9. A/B tests run through Intelligems. How do you switch from iCart to a new cart drawer?

Build the new drawer on a draft theme, copy your progress bar tiers and upsell rules across, test a checkout, then turn iCart off. Done in that order, shoppers never see two carts.

1. Write down your iCart setup: free shipping threshold, gift tiers, upsell rules, bundles or volume discounts in the cart, timer settings and colors.
2. Decide what happens to iCart's cart page or popup, if you used one. The apps here replace the drawer only, so your theme's own cart page takes over.
3. Install the new app. In Section Store, open Cart Drawer, pick a color preset or Brand, and add the Reward bar, Products upsell and Order addon blocks.
4. Enter the same thresholds. Choose Shopify recommendations or manual rules for the upsells. Rebuild any in-cart volume discount as a bundle on the product page.
5. Preview on a phone. Add a product, cross the free shipping line, apply a code, and run a test order.
