Shogun, the Shopify page builder app, costs $39 a month for 25 published pages, $199 for unlimited pages and $499 for multi-store teams. Its free Draft Mode can't publish, and A/B testing is a separate Shogun app from $39. The closest alternatives are PageFly and GemPages at $24 to $29, and Section Store Plus at a flat $15 with AI-built pages, bundles and a cart drawer. We make Section Store, so this guide says where each rival beats it. Section Store is a Shopify app with theme sections, bundles, a cart drawer and AI Pages. Section Store Plus is its $15 monthly plan.
Shogun pricing: what does the Shogun page builder cost in 2026?
Shogun's page builder for Shopify has four plans: Draft Mode at $0, Build at $39 a month, Grow at $199 and Advanced at $499. The prices are from its Shopify App Store listing on October 23, 2026. Draft Mode lets you design but not publish. Build publishes 25 pages. Grow and Advanced publish unlimited pages. Every paid plan has a 10-day free trial. The listing shows a 4.8 rating from 1,973 reviews, a launch date of September 21, 2015, and a Shopify Plus Certified badge.
| Plan | Monthly | Billed yearly | Published pages | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Draft Mode | $0 | $0 | 0 | Visual builder, all page templates, draft pages only |
| Build | $39 | $31 a month ($372 a year) | 25 | Page analytics, reusable content sections |
| Grow | $199 | $159 a month ($1,908 a year) | Unlimited | Content scheduling, global content sections, advanced media management |
| Advanced | $499 | $399 a month ($4,788 a year) | Unlimited | Content syncing between stores, custom CMS collections, custom code elements |
Yearly billing saves 20 percent on getshogun.com/pricing, which prints $31, $159 and $399 a month. The App Store card for Build says "$372/year and save 21%", the same $372 rounded the other way.
A/B testing is not in any of those prices. The listing points to "our separate app", Shogun AB Testing. On getshogun.com that app has its own tiers. Pro is $39 a month for 3 active tests, Advanced is $119 for 5 active tests, and Unlimited is $499. Personalization is a third product at $199 a month. Both are metered by monthly tracked users, which the site defines as each unique shopper who visits a page with an active test or personalized experience. So a merchant who wants 25 pages and 3 running tests pays $39 plus $39, which is $78 a month.
Shogun lists no AI page builder on any plan card. The listing's feature list ticks "AI generation", but no App Store card or pricing tier names an AI builder, AI credits or an AI limit. That is the main gap the alternatives fill.
Where Shogun is strong. Its help center says published pages stay with your store as pure HTML after you uninstall, the best exit terms of any builder here. It has run since 2015 and holds a Shopify Plus Certified badge. Grow adds scheduling and global sections that most rivals don't offer.
Which Shogun alternative is best?
PageFly and GemPages are the closest like-for-like swaps, and EComposer is the cheapest editor that includes A/B testing. Section Store Plus is the cheapest way to get AI-built pages plus upsell tools. The right one depends on why you are leaving Shogun. We compared GemPages alternatives, PageFly alternatives and Replo alternatives the same way.
AI builds the page, one flat price
Section Store Plus
$15 a month at any revenue. AI Pages writes the copy, makes the images and builds the page in your theme. Bundles and a cart drawer are in the same plan.
A like-for-like editor
PageFly
$24 for 5 published pages or sections, $99 unlimited with A/B testing included. 5,910 reviews at 4.9.
Unlimited pages for the least
GemPages
$29 for unlimited publish slots, with sales funnels and post-purchase upsells on every plan.
A/B testing in the same bill
EComposer
$49 for 50 live pages or sections with A/B testing included. Shogun charges $39 plus $39.
How do the 7 Shogun alternatives compare?
Seven apps do the same job as Shogun, and they split on three things. One is the price of the first plan that publishes pages. Two is whether AI builds the page. Three is what happens when you uninstall.
| App | Rating | First paid plan | Unlimited pages | AI | When you uninstall |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shogun | 4.8 (1,973) | $39, 25 pages | $199 | None on the plan cards | Pages stay live as HTML |
| Section Store Plus | 4.9 (2,985) | $15, 5 AI builds included | $15, $1 per AI build after 5 | AI Pages builds the whole page | One-time sections stay. Plus sections stop rendering |
| PageFly | 4.9 (5,910) | $24, 5 pages or sections | $99 | AI credits on every plan | All content permanently deleted |
| GemPages | 4.9 (4,258) | $29, unlimited pages | $29 | MCP for AI agents, image to layout | Files and scripts removed, display issues possible |
| EComposer | 4.9 (3,476) | $25, 15 pages or sections | $129 | AI credits on every plan | Pages work 48 hours, deleted after 30 days |
| Instant | 4.9 (349) | $39, unlimited landing pages | $39 | 1,000 AI credits on Starter | Store stays connected, data kept |
| Zipify Pages | 4.7 (423) | $19, 5 landing pages | $99 | "AI-powered features", no limits listed | Pages stored 90 days, stop working |
| Replo | 4.6 (185) | $119, 15 published items | $599 | Credits, ad creative to page | Pages stay live, no publishing |
What does each app cost at 25 published pages?
At 25 published pages with no A/B testing, the monthly bills run from $15 to $219. 25 is Shogun's Build cap. Section Store Plus is $15 plus $20 once for 20 extra AI builds, GemPages is $29, Shogun and Instant are $39, PageFly is $44, and Replo is $219. All figures are worked examples from the plan cards.
| App | Plan | Monthly cost | Pages on that plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Section Store Plus | Plus | $15, plus $20 once for 20 extra AI builds | 5 AI builds included, $1 each after. Pages built from sections have no cap |
| GemPages | Build | $29 | Unlimited |
| Shogun | Build | $39 | 25 published pages, the plan's cap |
| Instant | Starter | $39 | Unlimited landing pages, 3 product or collection templates |
| PageFly | Builder plus four add-ons | $44 ($24 + 4 × $5 for 20 extra slots) | 25 published pages or sections |
| EComposer | Pro | $49 | 50 live pages or sections. Standard at $25 stops at 15 |
| Zipify Pages | Advanced | $99 | Unlimited. Basic at $39 holds 15 landing pages, 5 product pages, 5 blog articles and 1 collection page |
| Replo | Starter plus one add-on | $219 ($119 + $100 for 20 more items) | 35 published items |
Add A/B testing and the gaps move. Shogun needs its separate AB Testing app, so 25 pages with 3 tests is $78. EComposer includes A/B testing at $49 and PageFly at $99. Section Store Plus runs A/B tests on bundles and the cart drawer, up to four versions each, not on pages.
What happens to your pages when you uninstall Shogun or a rival?
Shogun and Replo leave your pages live after you uninstall, PageFly deletes everything, and the rest sit in between. Shogun's exit terms are the strongest reason to stay with it. Each line quotes the vendor's own help page, read on October 23, 2026.
- Shogun: "You keep all your live pages and drafts, even after you uninstall. Published pages stay with your store as live pages, served up as pure HTML." Editing them outside Shogun may strip the styling. (Support center)
- PageFly: "all your PageFly data and published content will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered, even if you reinstall the app." (Help center)
- GemPages: uninstalling "can impact your live pages by removing certain files and scripts, potentially causing display issues due to Shopify's setup." Reinstalling restores them. (Help center)
- EComposer: pages stay up for 48 hours, then move to the app's trash and are "permanently deleted after 30 days." (Help center)
- Zipify Pages: after you cancel, pages are stored 90 days, but "you won't be able to edit your pages, and they won't appear or function properly." (FAQ)
- Replo: "Your existing pages remain live" and "You cannot publish changes" without reinstalling on a paid plan. (Support)
- Instant: the store connection is permanent, "uninstalling the Instant app doesn't release the store", and reinstalling "picks the same connection back up with your data intact." (Docs)
- Section Store: sections bought from the library are files in your theme and stay. Sections and AI Pages builds that come with Plus stop rendering when Plus ends or the app is removed, because a Plus gate in the theme switches them off.
Before you uninstall any builder, screenshot each page, copy the text, and note which URLs it owns. Shopify's URL redirects only work from a URL that no longer loads, so a page that stays live can't be redirected.
Which Shogun alternatives build pages with AI?
Section Store Plus, PageFly, EComposer, Instant and Replo build pages with AI, GemPages offers AI through its MCP connector, and Shogun lists no AI page builder on its plans. The difference is how much you still do by hand.
- Section Store AI Pages builds a home page, a product page or any landing page from a short description. It writes the copy, makes the images from your product photos and builds the page in your existing theme, in about four minutes. Five builds are included with Plus, and more cost $1 each. Nothing goes live until you assign the template. Our AI store builders comparison shows five builds side by side.
- PageFly meters AI by credits: 10 a month on Free, from 80 on Builder, 400 on Accelerate and 1,600 on Enterprise.
- EComposer gives 50 credits on Free, 200 on Standard, 800 on Pro and 2,000 on Premium.
- Instant includes 1,000 credits on Starter, 4,000 on Pro and 10,000 on Business.
- Replo turns an ad, a URL or a Figma link into a page.
- GemPages puts GemPages MCP on every plan, so an AI agent you already use can hand HTML to the editor.
- Shogun ticks "AI generation" in its feature list, but no plan card or pricing tier names an AI builder or credits.
- Zipify Pages says "AI-powered features" without listing limits, so we print none.

The 7 Shogun alternatives, one by one
1. Section Store Plus
Section Store Plus is $15 a month at any revenue, with a 14-day trial. AI Pages builds product pages in three modes: full page, buy box only, or sections only. It also builds home pages and landing pages. The same plan includes bundles and quantity breaks, a cart drawer with upsells and a reward bar, and conversion blocks for the buy box. Pages are theme sections plus a JSON template, edited in Shopify's theme editor. They need an Online Store 2.0 theme and an active Plus plan.
Where Shogun beats it: a full drag-and-drop canvas, pages that stay live as HTML after uninstall, scheduling and global sections on Grow, and a decade of Shopify Plus work. Section Store has no free-form canvas and no post-purchase upsells, and it runs A/B tests on bundles and the cart, not on pages. For the cart side of the plan, see our cart drawer apps comparison and the average order value guide.
2. PageFly
PageFly is the most reviewed builder on this list at 4.9 from 5,910. Free gives one published slot. Builder is $24 for five slots with $5 per five more. Accelerate is $99 for unlimited pages, A/B testing and a cart drawer in beta. The catch is the exit: all content is deleted when you uninstall, with no backup.
3. GemPages
GemPages gives unlimited publish slots for $29, which is $10 under Shogun's 25-page plan with no cap. Every plan includes sales funnels and post-purchase upsells. Its help center says uninstalling can remove files and scripts, and reinstalling restores them. Our GemPages alternatives guide has its one-star review themes.
4. EComposer
EComposer is $25 for 15 live pages or sections and 200 AI credits. Pro at $49 adds 50 pages, 29 CRO extensions and A/B testing, so a tested 25-page store costs $49 here against $78 on Shogun. Premium at $129 is unlimited. Pages keep working 48 hours after uninstall, then sit in the app's trash for 30 days before deletion.
5. Instant
Instant is $39 for unlimited landing pages, 10 theme sections, three product or collection templates and 1,000 AI credits. That matches Shogun's Build price with no landing page cap. Pro at $99 adds 10,000 A/B test sessions, a cart drawer and 4,000 credits. Its App Store free plan is for development stores only.
6. Zipify Pages
Zipify Pages starts at $19 for five landing pages, one product page and one split-test campaign, the cheapest paid plan here. Basic is $39 for 15 landing pages and 5 product pages. Advanced is $99 unlimited with unlimited split tests. Cancel and your pages are kept 90 days but stop working.
7. Replo
Replo is the premium pick: $119 a month for 15 published items, with $100 a month for each extra 20, and $599 for unlimited. It turns ad creative into pages and includes 10,000 A/B testing sessions on Starter. Published pages stay live after uninstall, like Shogun's, but you can't publish changes.

Paying Shogun $39 for pages you built by hand? GemPages gives unlimited pages for $29, so the saving is real but small. Paying $78 because testing is a second app? EComposer and PageFly fold it in. Want the page written and built for you, with bundles and a cart drawer in the same bill? That is Section Store Plus at $15. Need pages that outlive the app? Stay on Shogun.
How do you move from Shogun without breaking pages?
Move one page at a time, and keep Shogun installed until the last page is rebuilt. Shogun's pages stay live as HTML after uninstall, so there is less rush than with PageFly or EComposer. But Shogun warns that editing those pages outside its editor may strip the styling.
- List every Shogun page and the URL it owns. Screenshot each on desktop and phone.
- Install the new builder and rebuild the highest-traffic page first. In Section Store, open AI Pages, pick the page type and paste the old page's text as the brief.
- Preview the new page on a draft theme or an unpublished template. Check the buy button, forms and any bundle or review app.
- Switch the live URL to the new page. For a product, change its theme template in the product's Theme template menu. For a page, change the template under Online Store then Pages.
- Repeat for the rest, then unpublish the Shogun versions.
- Uninstall Shogun last, and load every page once more.
How we compared
On October 23, 2026 we read each app's Shopify App Store listing for its rating, review count and plan cards. We read Shogun's own pricing page for the yearly rates and the A/B Testing and Personalization products. Uninstall rules come from each vendor's help center, linked above. We didn't install the rival apps or measure page speed. The order in our tables is not a ranking. We make Section Store, and its facts come from our own product.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Shogun cost for Shopify?
Shogun's page builder costs $39 a month for 25 published pages, $199 for unlimited pages and $499 for content syncing across stores. Those are App Store prices on October 23, 2026. Yearly billing is $31, $159 and $399 a month. Draft Mode is free but can't publish. A/B testing is a separate app from $39.
Is Shogun free?
Shogun has a free Draft Mode that opens the visual builder and every template but publishes nothing. The first plan that publishes a page is Build at $39 a month, capped at 25 pages. Every paid plan has a 10-day free trial. There is no free plan that puts a page live on your store.
Does Shogun include A/B testing?
No. The Shogun page builder listing says A/B testing lives in a separate app, Shogun AB Testing. On getshogun.com that app is $39 a month for 3 active tests, $119 for 5 and $499 for unlimited. So 25 pages with 3 running tests costs $78 a month. EComposer includes testing at $49 and PageFly at $99.
Is Shogun a Shopify app or the TV show?
Both exist. Shogun Labs makes the Shogun page builder, a Shopify app launched in 2015 that has a 4.8 rating from 1,973 reviews. Searches for "Shogun alternatives" mostly return the television series, so this guide uses "Shogun page builder" and "Shogun for Shopify" to mean the app.
What is the cheapest Shogun alternative?
Section Store Plus is the cheapest at $15 a month, with five AI page builds included and bundles plus a cart drawer in the same plan. Among drag-and-drop builders, Zipify Pages starts at $19 for five landing pages, PageFly at $24 for five slots, EComposer at $25 for 15, and GemPages at $29 for unlimited.
Shogun or PageFly: which is better?
PageFly is cheaper at every page count, $24 for five slots and $99 unlimited with A/B testing, and it has 5,910 reviews to Shogun's 1,973. Shogun wins on exit terms, because pages stay live as HTML after uninstall while PageFly deletes all content. Pick Shogun if you may leave later, PageFly if price and testing matter more.
Does Shogun build pages with AI?
Shogun's plan cards and pricing page list no AI page builder, AI credits or AI limits, although its App Store feature list ticks "AI generation". Section Store Plus builds whole pages from a description with five builds included. PageFly, EComposer and Instant meter AI by credits on every plan. Replo turns ad creative into pages.
Does Section Store Plus replace Shogun?
For pages, partly. Shogun is a drag-and-drop canvas. Section Store Plus builds pages from theme sections, by hand in Shopify's theme editor or with AI Pages from a short brief. You get less pixel control and more speed. The $15 plan also includes bundles, quantity breaks and a cart drawer, which Shogun doesn't sell at all.
