How to Add a Copy-to-Clipboard Coupon Banner to Shopify (No Code)

One of the biggest reasons for cart abandonment is "coupon hunting." When a customer sees a "Discount Code" field at checkout but doesn't have one, they often leave your site to search Google for a code.

The problem? They might land on a competitor's site or get frustrated by invalid codes. The solution is to keep them on your page by handing them the discount code on a silver platter.

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to add a Coupon Code Banner to your Shopify Dawn theme using the Section Store app. This widget even includes a "one-click copy" feature to make the checkout process seamless.

Step 1: Install the Section Store App

To get started, you'll need the Section Store: Theme Sections app. This app allows you to add specific, high-quality sections to your store without needing a developer or a full page builder.

Step 2: Choose the Coupon Widget

Open the app and browse the conversion blocks library. Search for "Coupon"

Once you find the design that fits your brand, add it to your library and then click "Add to Theme" to install it onto your live Dawn theme.

Step 3: Customize in the Theme Editor

Now, head over to your Shopify Admin:

1. Go to Online Store > Customize.
2. Navigate to your Product Page template.
3. Click "Add Section" in the sidebar and select the new Coupon Banner you just installed.
4. Drag the section to a prominent spot—ideally right under the "Add to Cart" button or at the very top of the product description.

Step 4: Configure the Discount

Click on the section to open the settings. Here you can:

• Set the Discount Code: Enter the actual code created in your Shopify Discounts area (e.g., SAVE20).
