Creating a sense of urgency and clarity on your product page is crucial for conversion. Customers want to know immediately if an item is ready to ship. The standard Shopify Dawn theme doesn't always make inventory status obvious.

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to add a professional, pulsing "In Stock" indicator right below your product price. The best part? It's completely dynamic—meaning it automatically changes to "Out of Stock" when inventory hits zero—and requires absolutely no coding. We'll be using the Section Store app to achieve this in just a few minutes.

Step 1: Install the Section Store App

To get started, you'll need the Section Store: Theme Sections app from the Shopify App Store. This app allows you to add conversion-focused blocks to your theme without needing a developer. It offers a free trial so you can test this feature risk-free.

Step 2: Add the Inventory Indicator Block

Once the app is installed:

1. Open the Section Store app dashboard.
2. Navigate to the "Conversion Blocks" category.
3. Find the "Pulse Badge" block.
4. Click to add this section to your library.

Step 3: Place it in the Theme Editor

Now, let's add it to your live store:

1. Go to your Shopify Admin > Online Store > Themes and click Customize on your current theme (e.g., Dawn).
2. At the top center dropdown, switch the view from "Home page" to Products > Default product.
3. On the left-hand sidebar within the Product Information section, click "Add block" and select the Pulse Badge you just added.
4. Drag and drop the block wherever you want it to appear. We recommend placing it right below the Price or above the Buy Buttons for maximum visibility.

Step 4: Customize and Make it Dynamic (Crucial Step!)

This is the most important part to ensure the indicator works automatically.

1. Click on the block in your sidebar to open its settings on the right.
2. You can customize the look here: change the text to say "In stock, ready to ship," enable the pulsing animation, and choose a green color for the "in stock" status.
3. To make it dynamic: Find the setting for "Stock Level". Turn the toggle to on so that it updates based on your inventory.
4. Select Product > Quantity from the list.

By linking this setting to Shopify's native product quantity data, the block will now intelligently switch colors and text based on real-time inventory. If a product sells out, the indicator will automatically turn red and say "Out of stock."

Hit Save in your theme editor, and you're done! You've just added a powerful conversion element to your product pages.
